Janmarie Anello started spinning stories at an early age, first for her dolls, then for her family and friends. In junior high, her plots revolved around boys and falling in love. Little did she know she was treading the path of a future career, but she took a slight detour. She went to college and earned her degree in Medical Technology, a health-care profession, then went to work for a community hospital.
It wasn't long before her passion for reading inspired her to start writing again. For many years, her stories were fairy tales for her children. Naturally, they were the stars. It wasn't until Janmarie read her first romance novel that she discovered the type of narrative she'd always longed to tell—stories filled with hope, with dark, dangerous lords and daring heroines, with heartbreak conquered and villains defeated, the ultimate joy at the end as a new family takes shape and embarks on their future, the promise of love.
When not writing, Janmarie laughs—a lot—at the antics of her two, rambunctious golden retriever puppies, though her laugh isn’t quite so convincing when they leap into her garden and muck about her fledgling rose bushes. She loves reading, of course, and researching her stories. Literacy and education are issues close to her heart. She wishes she liked to cook, but she greatly prefers dining out with family and friends.
A native New Englander, she loves the changing seasons (well, perhaps not the long, cold winters), but summer brings its own special magic in the form of tiny, ruby-throated hummingbirds. Each year Janmarie sets out on her personal quest to find the ideal combination of plants to lure these beautiful and amusing birds into her garden. Her idea of a perfect summer day: sitting on her deck, tapping away on her laptop, puppies lounging in the sun, and the hummingbirds buzzing around her.
